Shawn Loo, DDS

General Dentist

Shawn Loo, DDS received his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of California, Irvine. While at UCI, he served as the academic chair for Lambda Theta Delta.

After finishing his undergraduate degree, Dr. Loo attended the nationally recognized University of Southern California School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. After graduating, he then served part time on the USC Restorative Faculty teaching the art of crowns, bridges and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Loo has also been an instructor for one of the world’s leading cosmetic centers that focuses on teaching other dentists how to perform smile makeovers.

In 2009, Dr. Loo was recognized as one of “America’s Top Dentists.” He was also nominated as one of the best general and cosmetic dentists in Orange County and Los Angeles County by the Best of L.A. television program.

Dr. Loo’s commitment to excellence is evident in his ongoing efforts to receive certifications and continuing his education in the latest advancements in dentistry. His main goal is to provide cutting-edge dentistry, including minimal preparation cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry and Invisalign® orthodontics.

Dr. Burnett

Austin Burnett

Oral Surgeon

Dr. Burnett was born and raised in Southern California. He was an advanced placement/international baccalaureate student at Troy High School in Fullerton where he graduated from the Troy Tech program with high honors and as a member of the National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation.

After 15 years in Orange County, Dr. Burnett left California with an academic scholarship to pursue his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University in Utah. There he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology with minors in Chemistry and Japanese. Dr. Burnett graduated magna cum laude from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school he served as the clinic director of a volunteer clinic donating free dental care to military veterans (Sgt. Clint Ferrin Memorial Veterans Dental Clinic) and was the president of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery club. He also served as a pre-dental student coordinator for the American Student Dental Association and as an assistant course instructor at the dental school.

Dr. Burnett was published multiple times while in dental school, one of his recognitions included an abstract on stem cell use in dentistry, a research project for which he was awarded a competitive research grant. Dr. Burnett completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Cook County Hospital, a level one trauma center in Chicago (see ER the TV show). He was awarded the Resident of the Year award twice while in residency, served as an adjunct faculty member for the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, and presented at the Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons biannual meeting on malignant transformation of odontogenic keratocytes.

Dr. Burnett currently works both in private practice and as a clinical educator at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry (UCLA). He has completed certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). He has active hospital privileges at Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana. Dr. Burnett is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (CALAOMS), the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA), the California Dental Society of Anesthesiology (CDSA), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), the American Dental Association® (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), and the Orange County Dental Society (OCDS).

Dr. Burnett married his wife Elise in Redlands, CA. They currently have three children: Caden (8), Vance (6) and Macey Jane (2). Dr. Burnett is an Eagle Scout, black belt in Tae Kwon Do, avid guitarist, passionate soccer player and die-hard Lakers fan!

D.r Mcleod

Robert McLeod, DDS, MSD

Periodontist

Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Robert McLeod received a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry. After dental school, Dr. McLeod elected to pursue advanced training at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle where he completed a specialty program in periodontics and dental implant surgery, and received a Master of Science in Dentistry degree.

Dr. McLeod then became an officer in the United States Air Force. He spent four years as the Chief of Periodontics at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City and served as a volunteer clinical instructor at the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry. Dr. McLeod is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association®, California Dental Association and Orange County Dental Society. He is also board-certified in periodontics, having achieved diplomate status with the American Board of Periodontology.

In his spare time Dr. McLeod enjoys spending time with family, reading and watching movies. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as snowboarding, scuba diving, hiking and golf.
